Islamic Group Wants Buhari To Review Federal Appointment
The supreme council for Islamic affairs in Ekiti State has called on President Muhamodu Buhari to review some federal appointments from the state.
The Islamic council in a Press Release issued at the end of the January edition of its monthly congress held at Itapaji-Ekiti, protested what it described as marginalistion of its members from the federal appointments made so far from Ekiti state.
The Press statement which was jointly signed by the President of the Organization, Alhaji. Yakubu Sanni and it’s Secretary, Alhaji Tajudeen Adejumo lamented the relegation of Muslims in the state in the scheme of things.
The Organization also expressed dismay at the action of the former Governor of the state, Dr Kayode Fayemi over his failure to include Muslims in the nominee for the appointment.
The statement further described Fayemi’s advertorial in the media as show of insensitivity as it said that the former Governor celebrated the appointment after the protest of Muslim faithful in the state.
The organization however pointed out such lopsided in the appointment and called on the Federal Government to look inward and ensure objectivity, balancing and fairness in the just announced federal board appointees from the state.
