INEC promises smooth election in Ekiti
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has promised a smooth governorship election in Ekiti State next month as the commission’s chairman goes round the state to supervise the mock accreditation of intending voters.
The exercise was an avenue for the assessment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS which takes few minutes from the submission of voter cards for authentication to the capturing of finger print and faces.
INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu who was in the state for the mock exercise said he was pleased with the performance of the gadgets as observed across the towns visited.
The INEC boss also said that 74% Permanent Voter Card collection rate is already recorded in the state while describing the development as impressive.
Among the towns visited include, Igede, Ikere, and Ado-Ekiti, the State Capital.
