Humans waging ‘suicidal war’ on nature – UN chief
The United Nations Secretary General António Guterres is urging people around the world to stop waging what he calls suicidal war on nature.
In his speech later today, Mr Guterres will describe the planet as broken and announce that tackling climate change will be the main goal of the UN next year.
In a special broadcast on the BBC, Mr Guateres warns that the planet faces disaster without urgent action.
Mr Guterres will urge countries, cities and companies to take immediate action to reduce carbon emission to net zero in 2050.
