Hilton Honour’s Hotel owner’s counsel wants court to declare appearances of prosecuting counsel, Femi Falana null, void

Counsel to the owner of Hilton Honour’s Hotel, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Rahmon Adedoyin standing trail for the alleged murder of a postgraduate student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke has asked the court to declare null and void the appearances and other legal activities of the prosecuting counsel, Femi Falana in the matter.

According to Adedoyin’s counsel Rowland Otaro, Falana failed to possess fiat of the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Osun State to prosecute the matter.

However, Falana argued that he has obtained the fiat but he is yet to present it , despite an order of the presiding judge, Justice Adepele Ojo, asking the prosecutor to produce an evidence of the fiat.

Falana therefore urged the court to discountenance the defendants’ applications saying they lacked locus standi to pray for such.

He explained that if the prayers of the defendants counsel is granted, there is possiblity that the trial may start afresh.

The prosecutor asked the court to consider the defendants who had been in prison since last year March and reject the prayers

The presiding judge justice Adepele Ojo promised to rule on all the applications alongside with the final judgment

It would be recalled that Rahmon Adedoyin and six others are standing trial on 18 count charge bothering on conspiracy to murder, murder, tampering with official record among others
