Heavy rainfall many homeless in Ado-Ekiti
A heavy rainfall in Ado Ekiti on Friday rendered at least 15 persons homeless in Aduramigba community along Afao Road in Ado Ekiti.
Residents of the community while recounting their ordeal to Adaba FM correspondent Oluwaseun Adebolu said that the recent flood was caused by the overflowing of the canal that runs through the community from Tinuola to Ẹlẹmi in Afao Road.
Mr. Olanrewaju Ojo And Gbade Aniyeloye appealed to the state government to assist the community in dredging the river, which they claim was last dredged in 2013, in order to ensure uninterrupted water flow.
Mary Solomon, a middle-aged woman, who was devastated said that she has lost all her properties due to the flood.
She appealed to the state government for assistance in dredging the river that flows from Tinuola area through Ẹlẹmi.
Several areas in the state capital, such as Adere Ilawe Road, Iworoko Road, and Olokemeji, were recently impacted by flooding.
