Gunmen kill Ondo monarch
Suspected kidnappers have murdered a first class monarch in Ondo State.
The Oluifon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi, was on his from a meeting in Akure, the Ondo State capital when he was shot by the bandits at Elegbeka.
Oba Adeusi was rushed to the federal medical centre in Owo where he was confirmed dead.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State, Tee Leo Ikoro, confirmed the development in a telephone interview with Adaba FM.
The Amotekun Corps commander in Ondo State, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, also confirmed the incident.
He said the Amotekun Corps was on the trail of the kidnappers to apprehend them and also rescue other persons who were kidnapped at the scene where the traditional ruler was shot.
