Gov Polls: INEC begins sorting of sensitive materials in Kano
The Independent National Electoral Commission says it has started sorting sensitive electoral materials for distribution to the 44 local government areas of Kano state.
This followed the collection of card readers and ballot papers from the state branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
INEC’s director of voter education and publicity in the state Mallam Garba Mohammed confirmed this development to newsmen.
He explained that non-sensitive materials had already been dispatched to the various local governments as part of efforts to ease challenges posed by logistics.
Mohammed said, the distribution of sensitive materials such as card readers and ballot papers will begin this evening after sorting.
