Gov-elect, Biodun Oyebanji receives certificate of return in Ekiti
The winner of last Saturday’s Governorship election in Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Oyebanji who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received the certificate of return at the INEC’s office in Ado-Ekiti from the Supervising National Commissioner in-charge of Lagos, Ekiti and Oyo States, Sam Olumekun.
The Deputy Governor-elect, Monisade Afuye also received her Certificate of Return as well as the winner of the Ekiti East Constituency-2 Bye Election at the event, Fatoba Oyewole.
The Governor-elect who commended the INEC for smooth conduct of the poll, also promised the people of the state that they will enjoy the benefit of good governance when he takes over the mantle of leadership in the State.
INEC Supervising National Commissioner in-charge of Lagos, Ekiti and Oyo States, Sam Olumekun who handed the Governor-elect and his Deputy the certificate of return said such was in consonance with the constitutional provision.
On his part, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State, Dr. Adeniran Tella said INEC surmounted all the odds through proper planning to be able to conduct a free, fair and credible election.
