Gas explosion wreaks-havoc in Kano

No fewer than 20 persons were injured after a gas explosion at a liquefied petroleum gas refilling shop at Sheka quarters, Kumbotso local government area of Kano state.

The incident happened last night, after a cylinder exploded, which also led to the destruction of some shops.

Eyewitness reports indicate that the fire started when a fish seller was frying the fish near the gas refilling shop.

The public relations officer of the Kano state fire service, Saminu Yusuf who confirmed the incident said the 20 affected persons were rescued alive and taken to hospital for treatment.
