Frank Lampard to become Chelsea manager on Monday

Frank Lampard is expected to start work as Chelsea’s new manager on Monday as talks on a three year deal were close to being finalised on Tuesday evening.

The former Chelsea hero is set to be announced as the successor to Maurizio Sarri in the next 48 hours five years after leaving the club as a player.

Derby, the side Lampard took to the championship play offs in his first season as a manager gave permission for the 41-year-old to talk to his former club, after an official approach was finally made.

Chelsea have agreed to pay more than £4million fee to buy Lampard and his coaching team out of their derby contracts.
