Former labour leaders want immediate implementation of new minimum wage
Some former labour leaders have thrown their weights behind the immediate implementation of the new minimum wage approved by the president.
The first president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr Hassan Sunmonu said the new minimum wage is non-negotiable.
He wants the federal government and labour movement to ensure effective sanction for employers who refuse the national minimum wage of 30,000 naira.
The general secretary of the textile workers union of Nigeria, Mr Isah Aremu described any move by employers to stop the implementation of the minimum wage as a criminal offence.
Isah commended the national assembly and president Muhammadu Buhari for having Nigerian workers at heart.
