Former IGP backs community policing as tool for fighting insecurity
A former Inspector General of Police, Sunday Ehindero Says Community Policing would generally enhance avenue to create a stringer bond with the citizens in a bid to totally making insecurity a thing of the past in Nigeria.
Ehindero made the disclosure while delivering a lecture on Community Policing and Sensitization Programme in Ado Ekiti.
The former IGP believes that a strict community police structure when it evolves nationwide through a well-structured, legal provision could help reduce the level of criminality and partly insurgency that has become the lot of the nation.

On his part, Commissioner of Police in the State, Tunde Mobayo lauded the move to form synergy with other security sister agencies in other to combat insecurity bedeviled the Nation headlong.
The event which held at the Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti witnessed the presence of top government functionaries, Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Rulers, Religious Leaders, and representatives of Chairmen of Landlord’s Associations, representatives of Artisans and Drivers Union and other critical stakeholders .
