Former Ghanaian president to be laid to rest today
Former Ghanaian president Jerry John Rawlings will be laid to rest today.
His body has been lying in state since Monday as hundreds of people paid their last respects.
The funeral rituals are taking place with strict enforcement of coronavirus restrictions.
Mr Rawlings died at the age of 73 in the country’s capital, Accra on 12 November after a short illness.
The country’s longest-serving leader his credited with maintaining Ghana’s stability haven led a military regime for over a decade before returning the country to multiparty democracy in 1992.
