FG Declares July 15 Public Holiday to Honour Late President Buhari

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 as a public holiday to honour the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as part of the 7-day national mourning period declared by President Bola Tinubu.

Governors across the Northwest have also endorsed the holiday to allow for prayers, processions, and final burial arrangements in Daura, Katsina State.

Flags will fly at half-mast across Nigeria from July 13–19 as the nation pays tribute.
