Federal government increases prices of electricity meter
The federal government has raised the cost of both single-phase and three-phase electricity meters.
The new rate will take effect from November the 15th 2021.
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission announced the hike in a circular addressed to managing directors, all electricity distribution companies and all meter asset providers.
In the document, the regulator raised the price of a single-phase meter from the current cost of 44, 896 naira to a revised price of 58, 661 naira.
It also increased the price of a three-phase meter from the current cost of 82,855 naira to a revised rate of 109,684 naira.
