Fayemi Swears-In New Chief Judge In Acting Capacity
The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has inaugurated Justice John Adeyeye as the acting Chief Judge of the State.
Justice Adeyeye will be taking over from Hon Justice Ayodeji Daramola, whose tenure expired statutorily on Monday, May the 31st, 2021 after spending 10 years as the Chief judge of the State.
At the inauguration ceremony in Ado-Ekiti, Fayemi pointed out that the appointment of the new acting chief judge was to prevent a vacuum in the state judiciary, given the disengagement of the Justice Daramola.
He condemned the increasing cases of sexual violence in the State, while urging the State jurists to review the rules and court procedures in a manner that will ensure the prioritization and speedy consideration of matters of sexual violence.
In a remark, the acting chief judge, Justice John Adeyeye promised to justify the confidence reposed him, while also promising to uphold the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
He solicited the support of his brother judges and judicial workers to enable him steer the ship of the State judiciary into an enviable heights.
