Fayemi signs four bills into law
The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has Signed four bills into law in the state.
The Bills are; the Ekiti State Criminal law 2021, the Ekiti State victims charter law 2021, the Ekiti state House of Assembly service commission re-enactment law 2021, and the Food Security law 2021.
The Governor while Signing the four bills into law in his office in Ado Ekiti noted that he specifically directed the state ministry of justice to propose a legal framework that responds to citizens concerns about the spate of sexual violence against women and girls.
Fayemi also pointed out that, the food security act will achieve the twin purposes of improving health and income for the people as well as increasing the IGR of the State.
Earlier in a remark, the speaker of the state Assembly, Funminiyi Afuye explained that the bills are expected to address critical areas of governance, with the aim of translating the policies of the Fayemi’s administration into an enduring legacy.
Afuye further stressed that the State Assembly since it’s inception has passed a total of 68 bills into law.
The Speaker expressed the optimism that the four bills signed into law which he said were structured in line with the five pillars of the Fayemi’s administration would make life more abundant for all residents of the state.
