Ex- Commissioner Drags Ekiti Govt To Court Over Alleged Libel
A former commissioner for finance under the immediate past administration in Ekiti state, Dapo Kolawole has dragged the Ekiti state government to court over libel .
Kolawole in the writ of summon dated 18th of January 2018 is praying the court to grant the order mandating the EFCC to investigate the circumstances for the diversion of Ikere- Iju, ondo state boundary road without ensuring relevant laws of the state government are strictly adhere to.
Among reliefs the plaintiff sought including a perpetual injunction restraining the first to 15th defendants from further act of slander and libel his against his personality.
The plaintiff is also seeking the order of the court declaring that Federal Government palliatives funds must be disbursed directly through a committee of EFCC, Accountant General of the Federation to avert further diversion or misappropriation of such funds.
The former commissioner is also praying the court to award the sum of ten billion naira against the 10th- 15th defendants being officials of Ekiti State government for the slander and disparaging words against him.
He also prayed the court to award the sum of 100 million naira as general damages against the Ekiti state government .
Other defendants in the suit are:The Governor of Ekiti state, Permanent secretary federal ministry of finance, the Secretary to the state government, special assistance to the state Governor on communications and new media, Lere Olayinka among others.
