EKSIEC presents certificates of return to elected LG chairmen in Ekiti
The Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (EKSIEC) has given certificates of return to the 38 local government chairmen and 177 ward councilors elected during the December 2 local government election in the state.
While giving them the certificate, EKSIEC chairman Justice Cornelius Akintayo Rtd. attributed the success of the election to the corporation given by the political gladiators at the grassroots.
He called on them not to deviate from the promises made to the people by their various local governments.
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Paul Omotosho, who highlighted the importance of local government, urged the elected local government chairmen and councilors to replicate the giant strides of Biodun Oyebanji’s administration at the state level in their domains.
He expressed that the APC, as a party in the state, will continue to fight for the interests of the masses.
Some of the local government chairmen, including the Chairman Elect of Irepodun Ifelodun local government, Gbenga Oluwatuyi, and Ajoni LCDA chairman Prince Michael Ogungbemi, promised to emulate the successes recorded by Governor Biodun Oyebanji at the local governments.
The local government election was held on December 2nd, where all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state emerged victorious.
