Ekiti State government flags-off free eye cataract surgery
The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has flagged off free eye cataract surgery tagged: “President Buhari Restores Vision”.
Fayemi flagged off the ceremony in Ado Ekiti.
He said the aim of the Buhari Administration is to completely eradicate cataract in Nigeria.
The Governor was represented by his Deputy, Bisi Egbeyemi.
At the forum, he noted that the free cataract surgery was inaugurated with a view to carrying out effective intervention by undertaking large scale cataract surgeries across the nation.
Also speaking, Permanent Secretary State Ministry of Health, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi expressed optimism that the free cataract surgery would restore hope of seeing clearly again to the beneficiaries of the scheme.
Over 400 patients suffering from eye cataract are expected to benefit from the eye cataract surgery organized by the Ekiti State government in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Health.
