Ekiti gov. inaugurates twenty-man transition committee

The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has inaugurated a twenty-man Transition Committee for the smooth take off of the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji administration billed to take off on October the 16th, 2022.

Fayemi who performed the ceremony in Ado-Ekiti, commended the good people of Ekiti for voting the Candidate of his party, adding that the state is leading the way as a model subnational Government with the implementation of a carefully crafted law with robust provision to ensure smooth transition of power from successive administration of the state government.

The Governor while inaugurating the transition committee noted that the gesture was In line with the Ekiti State Transition Law, 2019, adding that the State would be in the safe hands as he said Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has been a central figure of his administration and that of his predecessor, Niyi Adebayo. 

The State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General Olawale Fapohunda while Speaking at the forum said, Ekiti state is the first state in Nigeria to enact transition law and to implement such. 

The Attorney General who also interpreted the transition law pointed out that section eight of the law prescribed that incoming administration will not abandon the project of the immediate past administration, which he described as the hallmark of the law.

The Committees are to turn in their reports within the six weeks from the date of their inauguration.
