Ekiti College of Education Saga: Staff protests alleged disengagement of members
College of education, Ikere Ekiti chapter of senior staff union of colleges of education has protested the alleged disengagement of five of its members.
Member of the union accused the state government of hiding the content of the white paper it claimed to be implementing.
In a chat with Adaba fm, zonal chairman of the union, Ebun Atinuke and the branch chairman, Oluwole Olusona condemned the appointment of the institutions acting bursar from among academic staff.
They also accused the institution’s governing council of not having its interest at heart.
The union vowed to stop its members from attending a planned screening exercise until its five months arrears and eight months deduction are paid.
Efforts to reach the management of the institution for comment on the matter proved abortive as the college’s provost’s phone number was not available.
