Ekiti Catholic Bishop advises Nigerians against vote-buying

The Catholic Bishop of Ekiti, Most Reverend Felix Ajakaye, wants Nigerians to be more honest about fighting vote-selling and vote-buying.

Bishop Ajakaiye said this vice continues to hamper the progress of Nigeria by preventing the election of efficient and people-centred politicians into office.

The Ekiti Catholic Bishop was speaking at a forum in Ado-Ekiti on the theme “Ekiti Politics and the Search for Great Leadership”.

He challenged the electorate in Ekiti state to be prepared to elect a credible person who would be a dignified symbol and an ambassador of Ekiti as governor in June 2022.

Bishop Ajakaye added that both Ekiti and Nigeria need leaders who would not engage in vendetta and patronage of hangers-on, but true leaders who care about the unity and survival of their state and the country.
