Covid-19: Ondo APC guber aspirant faults Akeredolu on distribution of resources

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state, Olayide Adelami has expressed regrets that the state government is yet to devise a plan for equitable distribution of resources to the informal sector.

Adelami said this would have cushioned the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

The former deputy clerk to the national assembly was speaking in a chat with Adaba FM in Akure.

Adelami called on the government to roll out palliative measures and create a food bank to support the people, especially the vulnerable ones.

The governorship hopeful said the informal sector, comprising people mainly into commercial and agricultural activities should not be left to suffer amidst the stay at home order.

Adelami also stressed the need for the Ondo government to start preparing for the looming economic meltdown as forecast by global economists.

Adelami urged the people of the state and Nigerians to stay safe and observe all the precautionary measures put in place by government and health officials to curb the spread of the virus.

He commended the federal and the Lagos state governments for proactively containing the spread of the virus in Nigeria.
