COVID-19 fumigation Allegedly kills two students in Ekiti
Two students of the Ekiti state College of Heath Technology, Ijero-Ekiti have reportedly died mysteriously from the chemical some people believed to have been inhaled from the school fumigation.
The school was thrown into chaos as students of the institution went on rampage protesting alleged mysterious death of some of their colleagues.
A student of the institution, Adedipe-Adeyemi Funmi who spoke with our correspondent in a telephone interview alleged that some officials of the state government visited the institution on Monday to fumigate the school against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fumigation she alleged that led to the death of some students as they inhaled the chemical substance, while about 30 others are currently in critical conditions at various hospitals in the state.
All efforts to speak with the Provost of the institution, Mrs Cecilia Adebayo was not successful as she declined all calls placed on her mobile phone.
But the State Commissioner for information and value orientation, Akin Omole explained that there was no truth in the allegation, he explained that the state government would soon come out with clear statement over the allegation.
