Court removes El-Zakzaky and wife from DSS custody
A Kaduna state high court sitting in the state capital has ordered that the embattled leader of the Islamic movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem El-zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat be transferred from the custody of the DSS to a correctional centre in the state.
In his ruling, the trial judge, justice Gideon Kudafa says the decision is to enable El-zakzaky and his wife have access to their lawyers and doctors.
He subsequently adjourned the case to February the 6th for the commencement of trial.
The IMN leader is facing trial over allegations of culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, and disruption of public peace, among other charges.
