Court nullifies Osun LG election

A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo has nullified the Local Government Election Conducted by Osun Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC).

The election which was conducted by the state electoral body (OSIEC) on the 15th October was declared null and void by Justice Nathaniel Ayoola

Justice Ayoola said the election is not conducted in consonance with Electoral Act of 2022 hence the reason for it nullification.

He therefore ordered the winners of the exercise to vacate offices with immediate Effect.

It would be recalled that before the election the people’s democratic party in osun state had approached the court asking it to stop osun independent electoral commission from conducting the election.
