Court declines to sack Saraki, Dogara, 52 others
A federal high court sitting in Abuja has dismissed a suit seeking the sack of senate president Bukola Saraki, speaker house of representatives, Yakubu Dogara and 52 other federal lawmakers.
A civil society organization, legal defence and assistance project sought the sack of the lawmakers for defecting from one political party to another.
In his ruling, Justice Okon Abang held that the plaintiff’s case has merit but lack locus-standi to institute the action.
Abang held that the defendants, aside senator Godswill Akpabio failed to adduce any evidence to establish that there was division in their political parties before defecting.
He noted that neither the APC nor the PDP was joined as a party to the suit.
