Court adjourns senator Adeleke’s eligibility case till May 8
The court of appeal sitting in Abuja over the eligibility of senator Ademola Adeleke in the September 2018 governorship election has adjourned hearing till May the 8th, 2019.
The court adjourned the case to enable it hear senator Adeleke’s appeal alongside that of the People Democratic Party which was not approved for hearing today.
The presiding judge, Justice Abubakar Datti-Yahaya held that since both appeals are similar in facts the court cannot hear them in stages.
Senator Adeleke is challenging the judgement of the lower court which held that he did not qualify for the governorship election on the ground of forged secondary school certificate.
