Civil organisation calls for fairness over clashes between Ikale and Araromi Obu

The Ikale central organisation wants governor Rotimi Akeredolu to ensure that the committee set up to investigate the clash between Araromi Obu and Ikale people at Ago Alaye is fair to all sides.

The group says the only way this can be done is to ensure a level-playground for the two affected communities.

It says that while the people at Araromi Obu are moving freely about and preparing to present their case before the committee, Ago Alaye however remains under an all-day curfew.

The group wonders why Araromi Obu people who were the aggressors would be walking freely about while sixteen Ikale people including an 89-year-old man are still locked up.

The Ikale central organisation urges the governor to ensure fairness by lifting the 24-hour curfew on ago Alaye and also order the release of the Ikale people who were locked up.

However, it commends governor Akeredolu for the responsive way he set up the panel of inquiry to look into the crisis.
