Brexit: US will no longer be under EU Court Jurisdiction –Policy Paper

A government policy paper says the United States will no longer be under the direct jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice after Brexit.

United States minister Dominic Raab say they want a special partnership with the European Union but it is neither necessary nor appropriate for the European Court of Justice to monitor it.

He said this would be a process that both sides would have confidence.

But labour party Member of Parliament Chuka Limunna said there is nothing the United Kingdom government says it wants to deliver from Brexit either trade, citizen’s rights or judicial cooperation can be achieved without a dispute resolution system involving some role for European judges.
