Botswana leader cleared of Covid-19

Botswana health officials say president Mokgweetsi Masisi has been cleared of covid-19.

On Wednesday, Mr Masisi was released from home quarantine.

The president’s press secretary made the announcement in a tweet.

Botswana has to date confirmed four cases of covid-19 including one death.

On Tuesday, President Mokgweetsi Masisi declared a state of emergency and an extreme lockdown for 28 days.

The action commences today and will see everyone barred from leaving their homes except those offering essential services.
