APC members protest alleged imposition of party leaders in Ifedore local government

APC members in Ifedore local government area of   Ondo state have staged a peaceful protest at the state secretariat of the party to challenge alleged imposition of party leaders in the area.

The protesting members who fingered the state acting chairman Ade Adetimehin of acting contrary to the directive of the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

They noted that the governor had tasked party leaders in each ward of the LGA to draw a consensus   list for the congress, a directive they alleged Adetimehin disregarded.

Chairman of Ifedore LGA Alex Oladimeji said members have the right to protest any unfair treatment.

Party leaders in the LGA, state   treasurer   of   APC Boboye Dare and Busuyi Idowu said the acting chairman has no power to dictate who leads the party in Ifedore.

Addressing the protesters, speaker, house of assembly Bamidele Oleyelogun appealed to them and promised to look   into   the   matter.

Calls put across to the acting chairman were not answered as the gate of the secretariat was put under lock and keys.
