APC faction goes hard on Akeredolu

A faction within the APC in Ondo state, Unity Forum has hit hard at governor Rotimi Akeredolu for saying the party would lose if he is not picked as its candidate in this year’s governorship election.

In a statement by one Gbolahan Ayegbusi, Unity Forum describes the claim by Akeredolu as a demonstration of ego and naivety.

The group adds that APC has always been losing elections since Akeredolu became governor, wondering how not fielding him as governorship candidate could make matters worse.

It says it is ironic how Akeredolu claimed there is no PDP in Ondo state, while the same party won 2 senatorial seats at the expense of the APC in 2019.

Unity Forum appeals to APC members to remain calm as a tsunami of collaborative efforts at the state and the national level would soon sweep Akeredolu off.

Reacting to the comment, APC director of publicity Steve Otaloro described unity group as a confused set of people.

Otaloro said governor Akeredolu remained focused and mindful of public comments.
