Angry students protest ASUU incessant strike, block Ado-Iworoko road in Ekiti

Some Students of the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti have staged a peaceful protest to tell the authority concerned to expedite actions on the resumption of the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU nationwide.

The Angry Students who took to the street to protest incessant strike by ASUU blocked the Ado-Iworoko road, thereby making the road impassable for commuters and other road users plying the Road.

The development also prevented Staff and other students from gaining entry into the school while motorists were stranded.

The students called on the federal government to immediately
respond to the demands of ASUU and end the ongoing strike.

Some leaders of the Protesting students which include; Emmanuel Alade, Titilope Adeteye and Olanrewaju Felix told newsmen that the strike was not in the best interest of the students and advised government to dialogue with the striking lecturers to end the industrial action.

The students said the protest and road block would continue until the federal government accedes to the demands of the University lecturers.

On his part, Chairman Academic Staff Union of University, EKSU Chapter, Kayode Arogundade pleaded with stakeholders in the education sector to intervene in the crisis to save the
education sector from total collapse.
