Akoko youths kick against alleged imposition of Obaship Nominee
Youths from Ifira-Akoko in Akoko South-East Local Government Area of Ondo State have kicked against the nomination of a candidate identified as Mr. Oluwadare Ariwajoye as the next monarch of the town.
The youths who noted that the obaship candidate was not an indigene of the community, saying the process was against the tradition of the community.
They alleged that some political appointees were using governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s name to manipulate the selection process of new Olufira of Ifira Akoko, which could cause a crisis.
The youths who expressed their dissatisfaction over the kingship matter, urged governor Akeredolu to intervene before it degenerated into a full-blown crisis.
The stool of Ifira Akoko became vacant about two years ago following the death of Oba Anthony Olugboja.
