Akeredolu seeks peaceful conduct in Ondo Assembly poll
Ondo state governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has appealed to the residents of the state to conduct themselves peacefully in the house of assembly election on Saturday.
Akeredolu asked the people to display qualities of dignity and resilience in exercising their franchise at the poll.
He emphasized that Ondo state will continue to be a role model in entrenching democratic principles that foster a free and fair election.
The governor was speaking in Akure ahead of Saturday’s election.
Governor Akeredolu said the sustenance of the nation’s democracy depend on the determination of all Nigerians.
Meanwhile, the commissioner for information and orientation in Ondo state, Mr Yemi Olowolabi says the state cannot afford to be in the opposition party as it is detrimental to people’s choice.
Olowolabi spoke during a special programme with Adaba FM.
The information commissioner denied media report that governor Rotimi Akeredolu is planning to rig the house of assembly election coming up on Saturday.
Olowolabi said the present administration is committed to free and fair election in collaboration with INEC and security agents.
