Akeredolu Inaugurates Visitation Panels To State-Owned Institutions
Governor of Ondo State Oluwarotimi Akeredolu says education as a bedrock of the society, remains one of his administration’s cardinal point.
Akeredolu made the assertion today in Akure during the inauguration of visitation panels to the four state-owned tertiary institutions.
He said education of citizens must be purposeful, hence the need for the panel to be thorough in the discharge of their assigned duties.
One of the duties of the visitation panels to the four state-owned tertiary institutions according to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is to proffer solutions to identified problems in the system.
Akeredolu described the infrastructural deficits in all the institution as being responsible mass production of dependent graduates
He charged the visitation panels to be thorough in their and do a good work, capable of changing what he called “the sorry state” tertiary education in the state.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Femi Agagu noted that the exercise is in furtherance of the administration programme aimed at repositioning education in the state.
Chaiman of the Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko Panel, Dr Goke Adegoroye, on behalf of the panels assured that the purpose for which the panels were constituted would be realised within the time frame.
The panels each has 3weeks to complete the assignment and submit its report.
