Aiteo Cup: Akwa United won their second major trophy after beating Niger Tornadoes

Akwa United on Sunday won their second major trophy after beating Niger Tornadoes 3 – 2 on penalties to life the Aiteo Cup at the Agege stadium, Lagos.

The Uyo team will now represent Nigeria in the 2018 CAF confederation cup alongside Enyimba.

Akwa, who won the tournament in 2015 grabbed twenty-five million naira for their efforts while tornadoes went home with ten million naira.

Gabriel Okechukwu scored the last kick of the shootout after the regulation time ended goalless.
