Acting INEC Chairman, Others Meet Over Postponed Bye-Elections

The acting chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Muazu Ahmed has met with chairmen of political parties, to fix a date for the conduct of 15 bye elections across the country.

INEC had earlier fixed October the 31st of this year for the conduct of the bye election, but had to postpone due to security reasons arising from the EndSARS protests.

It is the first official meeting Muazu Ahmed would hold with political party leaders after taking over from Professor Mahmood Yakubu.

On Monday, Yakubu stepped down pending the confirmation of his re-appointment by the senate.
