Accusations, counter-accusations riddle Ondo PDP primaries
The Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo state holds its governorship primaries, today July 22nd.
The contest is between 8 aspirants, including Ondo deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi.
The event is holding at the Dome centre, Akure, and is being chaired by the governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
As soon as accreditation began, accusations and counter- accusations began to fly out.
The spokesperson of the Eyitayo Jegede campaign organisation, Gbenga Akinmoyo, raised an alarm over alleged ballot thump-printing.
On the contrary, the spokesperson for deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi denied his principal’s involvement in any form of voter inducement.
One of the contestants, Bode Ayorinde said he trusts the process, and is hopeful for a good outcome.
Similarly, Eyitayo Jegede said he was hoping for the best, considering that the committee in charge of the primaries has individuals with integrity
Earlier, PDP publicity secretary, Zadok Akintoye had promised a free, fair and credible process.
Same venue had been used to conduct the APC primaries which produced Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as flagbearer
