Kwara gov. locks out workers for late coming

Kwara state governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on Monday locked scores of civil servants outside the main gate of the old secretariat in Ilorin for late coming.

The governor told the civil servants that late coming to work is unhelpful for government business in the 21st century.

A statement by the governor Abdul Razaq’s spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye says the governor paid an unscheduled visit to the government secretariat and was not happy that most offices were still locked as at 9a.m.

The statement says the governor called for attitudinal change on the part of the workers.

It quotes the governor as saying late coming and poor attitude to work will not be tolerated.
