Tribunal summons INEC chairman to produce documents requested by PDP, Atiku
The presidential election petition tribunal has summoned INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu and Zamfara state Resident Electoral Commissioner to appear before it on Thursday.
They are to come along with documents requested by the petitioners in the subpoena issued on them.
The summon followed a complaint by the PDP, and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Counsel to the petitioners, Chris Uche, accused INEC of deliberately frustrating their case.
He told the court that both Yakubu and the Zamfara REC ignored a subpoena that was duly served on them to appear with specific documents with respect to the case.
The petitioners are challenging the declaration of president Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, as the winner of the February 23 presidential election.
