Oyebanji Distributes 100 Operational Vehicles to Security Agencies in Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has distributed 100 operational vehicles to security agencies in the state to strengthen patrols, improve mobility and enhance rapid response to security challenges.

Governor Oyebanji during the official distribution of the vehicles to the security agencies in Ado-Ekiti, said the intervention was part of his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring that the state remains peaceful and secure.

The governor said the vehicles would be deployed primarily for security operations and mobility, adding that some would also support the eventual take-off of the Ekiti State Police Outfit.

Oyebanji said the latest intervention was in addition to previous support provided to security agencies, including patrol vehicles, Armoured Personnel Carriers, bulletproof vests, helmets and other security equipment distributed two years ago.

He directed the security agencies to intensify patrols, maintain strategic visibility and improve response time, while urging security personnel to remain vigilant and professional in the discharge of their duties.

The governor also called for greater collaboration among the security agencies and effective utilisation of available surveillance technology, stressing that no agency should operate in isolation.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Brigadier Ebenezer Ogundana, retired, charged the benefiting agencies to ensure proper use and maintenance of the vehicles.

He said effective maintenance would help prevent premature deterioration of the vehicles and ensure their long-term usefulness.

Ogundana also urged residents and other stakeholders to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the appropriate security authorities.
