Gunmen Kill Restaurant CEO Hours Before Child’s Dedication in Ekpoma
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a 30-year-old entrepreneur, Justice Abu Oshioke, Chief Executive Officer of Principle Take Out Eatery and Restaurant, in Ekpoma, the headquarters of Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Oshioke was reportedly shot dead just hours before the dedication ceremony of his child. He had gone out to pick up an order for the event when the assailants allegedly attempted to abduct him.
According to the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force in the state, Deputy Superintendent of Police Eno Ikoedem, preliminary findings showed that the victim had returned home to collect items for his business when he was attacked. He was subsequently rushed to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
Ikoedem stated that the Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Monday Agbonika, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the incident and directed security operatives to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible.
She added that the police, working alongside the military, local vigilantes, and hunters, have launched coordinated operations to track down the perpetrators.
The command reassured residents of Ekpoma and the general public of its commitment to ensuring justice, urging citizens to remain calm, stay vigilant, and provide useful information that could aid the ongoing investigation.
