Police Arrest Two Customs Officers Over Fatal Shooting in Osogbo
The Osun State Police Command has arrested two officers of the Nigeria Customs Service over a fatal shooting in the Dada Estate area of Osogbo.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday while the officers were pursuing vehicles suspected to be foreign-used cars, popularly known as tokunbo.
The Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi in a statement made available to newsmen said the driver of an ash-coloured Toyota Corolla was hit by a gunshot during the operation.
The victim was later confirmed dead by doctors at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital osogbo
The police say the identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, while the body has been deposited at the hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, has ordered a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
