BREAKING: Former President Muhammadu Buhari is Dead

Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has passed away at the age of 82.

The announcement was made by his spokesperson Garba Shehu via X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

Buhari served as Nigeria’s military ruler from 1983–1985 and as a democratically elected president from 2015–2023.

He was known for his strong stance on anti-corruption and security, though his presidency was also marked by economic and human rights challenges.

Funeral arrangements and official state tributes are expected to follow.
