Osun govt approves appointment of new Owa of Igbajo

Osun state Government has appointed Ademola Makinde as the new Owa of Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government area of the state.

This is coming after the state government removed the estranged king prince Gboyega Famodun, who was the former chairman of the All progressive Congress in Osun state.

It would be recalled that Governor Adeleke had on November 28, 2022, a day after his inauguration ordered the reversal of all appointments made by his predecessor now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, after the latter lost the July 16, 2022 governorship election in the state.

Famodun alongside the Aree of Iree Oba Ademola Oluponle and the Akirun of Ikirun prince Yinusa Akadiri were removed by Governor Ademola Adeleke Saying their selections lacked due process.

In a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, noted that Prince Makinde’s nomination as forwarded by Boluwaduro Local Government was approved in line with due process, chieftaincy law and tradition.
