Police Present over N20m Cheques To Families Of Deceased Officers
Osun state commissioner of police, CP Mohammed Isyaku has presented cheques of 20.5 million naira to kinsmen of late police officers who lost their lives in active services.
While presenting the cheques at the state command headquarters in Oshogbo C.P Isyaku said the gesture is an initiative of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, designed to cushion economic hardship that the beneficiaries might be experiencing as a result of the death of the late officers.
The CP said the financial aid, supported by the federal government through an insurance scheme, is an indication that the federal government and the IG of police are passionate about the welfare of the officers and their families.
He urged the beneficiaries to make use of the financial aid judiciously.
After receiving their cheques, some of the beneficiaries Glory Agbajuneh and Favour Hammed who spoke with emotions lauded the federal government and the Inspector general of police for the kind gesture.
Agbajuneh and hammed said the gesture will go a long way in alleviating the suffering they are being subjected to since the demise of their breadwinner.
The gesture according to C.P Isyaku will be replicated in all the thirty six states of the federation .
