For Stealing Motorcycles, Man To Spend 6 Months In Jail
A magistrate court in Osogbo, capital of Osun State, has sentenced one Kehinde Olasunkanmi, 26, to six months imprisonment.
The prosecutor, Inspector Olayiwola Rasaq said, the accused person stole a N45 000 worth Haojue Suzuki motorcycle on the 16th of November, Property of one Sikiru Saka.
The prosecutor said the accused person’s offence is contrary to and punishable under section 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34, vol. II, laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.
The accused person pleaded guilty to the one count charge levelled against him.
The counsel to the accused person, Mr. R. A Nwgu prayed the court to temper justice with mercy. He said, the accused person has an old mother and five children to cater for.
Magistrate A.A Ayeni in his ruling sentenced the accused person to six months imprisonment with an option fine of N10 000.
